Okay, Debb and I got here on Friday, but I can't get my computer working on Holly's cable internet, so I eventually got a chance to sit down on hers and log on to my LJ account.
The trip here was pretty uneventful, apart from the two of us being beyond exhausted by the time we got to Holly's. I'd stumped up the money to give Debb and I a day pass to American Airlines executive lounges at Heathrow and Chicago - the one at Heathrow was well worth it. A lovely big area, free drinks (inc. alcohol), free snacks, newspapers, showers if you wanted them, great view of the planes...
The one at Chicago was a bit of a bust, but we went to the smaller of the two at terminal three. Having a nice comfy seat was good though.
The flights themselves were pretty smooth and uneventful, we had plenty of time at O'hare, and Debb had gone through immigration just before me, and the guy said "Are you with the Wedding Planner? She's going to Davenport, too..."
We then picked up our hire car - a Chevvy Trailblazer, which we have called "The Beast", and made our way to Holly's.
Saturday was a quiet day, we went to The Machine Shed for a hearty breakfast, before doing some grocery shopping. Debb went and got herself relaxed and pampered at the Spa, whilst Holly and I raided the sales at Penney's.
Sunday was also uneventful - Holly slept most of it, as she switches to nights tonight (6pm to 6am), although we found out that Debb makes an excellent Barista.
That's pretty much it - we've being taking it easy so far.
